The Antioxidant Process
To appreciate the benefits of antioxidants, you must first understand the oxidative process. Have you ever seen a bright red wagon oxidize and eventually rust? This oxidative process can also be found inside the human body. The body oxygenates the blood with every breath. However, if kept unchecked this process carries with it some negative side effects. Studies have shown that free radicals (a negative by-product of the oxidative process) are involved in the breaking down of collagen and elastin, encourage histamine production, inhibit circulation, exacerbate inflammation, and may cause many other disorders.

Proanthocyanidins (sometimes called OPCs) are the most efficient natural way to kill free radicals. By doing this, they reduce oxidative damage to vital tissues. Laboratory studies have found proanthocyanidins to be 50 times more potent than Vitamin E and 20 times more potent than Vitamin C (as an antioxidant). Studies indicate OPCs may produce some of the following nutritional benefits:

4Life's Choice 50 contains pure, premium grade, grape seed extract of the highest quality. This extract is guaranteed to contain at least 95% OPCs, the industry standard for comparing proanthocyanidin extracts. In addition to standardized grape seed extract Choice 50 contains other powerful antioxidants and synergistic ingredients that help protect the body from the effects of free radicals such as:

Recent scientific findings have established that the combination of these components acts synergistically, such that each component is enhanced in the presence of the others. Choice 50™ also contains Fo-Ti, a rich source of Resveratrol. This has allowed us to greatly increase the Resveratrol level in this formula. Be assured that Choice 50 contains 50 mg of standardized grape seed extract.

Antioxidants
The body oxygenates our blood with every breath. But, this process can have negative side effects on our bodies. Research has shown that free radicals (a negative by-product of oxidation), if left unchecked, can contribute to the breaking down of collagen and elastin, histamine production, inflammation, and other disorders.
